Hi friends! It’s getting cooler out there (slowly but surely), so I’ve slowly been adding little bits and pieces to my beauty routine to offset some of the affects of colder weather. Dry skin, dry lips, dry scalp, the cold air has completely dried me out. 😦 Here are a few of my favourite products that help me battle the dry winter season!
Origins Face Mask Set: I bought this set of three smaller sized Origins Face Masks during Sephora’s black friday sale and I’ve never looked back! Zoella has been talking about them in her videos for ages so I’ve really been wanting to try them, and this cute little package of three was my best option I thought! I’ve since used all three and they’ve helped immensely! There’s three options, one is for cleaning pores and good if you’ve got a breakout, one’s an overnight hydrating mask, and one’s a cleansing mask for all around skin health! I feel like these have really contributed to my clean skin and getting rid of dry patches and I really love them. Definitely going to splurge for bigger bottles next time now that I know they’re worth it!
Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil Light: This is a bit more on the expensive side, and I will say that it’s actually my mom who bought this not me! Hahah, personally I probably wouldn’t be able to afford this for myself just because I’m a student. BUT! I will say that there is quite a bit in the bottle, and it works like an actual dream. I put this one whenever my face is particularly dry and it’s so nice and softening and soothing, so I had to put it on the list. So, if you have the money to be spending, I would 100% recommend getting this because it’s absolutely the finest quality stuff.
Homemade Coconut Makeup Removing Wipes: I’ve made a video on my Youtube channel on how you can make these at home, you can watch it by clicking HERE, watch it if you’d like 🙂 I found this on Pinterest and I’d heard that coconut oil was awesome for removing makeup so I thought I’d try it out. It’s really, really amazing. It cleans my makeup off completely and leaves my skin feeling soft instead of really dry like a lot of other makeup removers. If you’re going to make this at home, try and use cotton balls or cotton pads instead of bounty sheets because they tend to break little pieces off which I don’t mind so much but I think it would overall be easier to make and use with cotton balls!
Homemade Lip Exfoliant: To make this, just mix a bit of brown sugar with granulated sugar and coconut oil. I’ve also added some vanilla to give it aa bit of a scent this time, but I think I’ll leave that out for next time. I’ve been making this for about a year now and it’s really nice to once or twice a week just to freshen up your lips if they get particularly chapped as mine do.
Lucas Pawpaw Ointment: I feel like I always talk about this stuff but that’s just because it works so well! So technically this is an ointment made from papaya that you can use for chapped lips, burns, mosquito bites, chafing, and about a million more things. I like to keep this with me when I go hiking for obvious reasons, but I also use a lot of it in the winter time because my lips get so chapped! It’s basically an all natural kind of Polysporin, and it really helps with my dry lips so I love it.
Body & Hair:
GUD by Bert’s Bees ‘Pearanormal Activity’ Body Cream: I talked about this in my November Favourites video because I love it so much! I put it on after every shower and it continuously hydrates my skin throughout the night and day! It also smells super yummy so that’s good too; it has pear and acai berries and it’s a nice moisturizer without leaving your skin feeling wet.
Fudge Urban Miracle Ends: I fell in love with Fudge Urban hair products when I dyed my hair platinum blonde and used their violet shampoo (it’s amazing). Since going back brown I’ve been trying to get my hair back to it’s original health, before all the bleach. This product smells delicious, like the yummy smelling things they put in your hair at the salon, and it works really well! It has made my hair softer than I thought it could be, but my hair is still in dire need of a trim! You can find it online at various stores depending on where in the world you live! Fudge Urban’s site is really good about letting you know who carries their products.
Those are all my winter beauty essentials for getting through the winter without too much damage to your skin and hair! Hope it helped, let me know what you think!
