Beauty | Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade

Hi friends! As you may already know, Sephora had a 15% off site-wide sale recently so I jumped at the opportunity to buy one of the things that had been on my beauty Wishlist for awhile – the Dipbrow pomade. I’ve also had my eye on the the Anastasia Brow Definer but I already have their brow brush so I decided to opt for the pomade. It’s advertised as “This creamy, multitasking product glides on skin and hair smoothly to create clean, defined brows. The standout formula works as a brow primer and provides color, sculpture, and shading. It is ideal for oily skin and in humid climates.”

What is it?

The consistency of the Pomade is strange – it’s similar to a dip eyeliner consistency. It’s supposed to both fill your brows as well as keep them in place in the same way that a gel would. Overall I would say it does both very well! I’m still having a hard time learning how to fill them in nicely though as it tends to go on quite thick. I apply mine with the Anastasia #12 Brow brush, which I think is the intended brush to use with it but it still goes on too thick for my liking. I think with a bit more practice I’ll get a better hang of it πŸ™‚ I do notice that it lasts super well; I have to scrub it off at night even on wetter days. However, I have neither oily skin or live in a humid climate so I can’t say for certain how well it stands up against those.

I was a bit reluctant to buy it online because I wasn’t sure which colour to buy and they have tons of options. I have chocolate brown hair so I picked the ‘soft brown’ colour, but I still find that it’s a bit dark so if you’re looking for a lighter colour I would go with the Taupe instead. πŸ™‚

Quantity-wise I’m super impressed. Each dipbrow osts $23 and comes with 0.14oz, which doesn’t sound like a lot but in regards to how much you use each day it’s an absolute steal. I don’t think I’ll be needed to buy a replacement in the near future like I do with my NARS Brow gel (which I also love, it just runs out quickly).

Is it worth it?

At $23 I would consider this cheap to begin with, most Sephora-sold brow products cost somewhere between $20-$40. Compared to the NARS brow gel that I have: NARS’s costs $30, and I still have to fill in my brows with an eyeshadow. The pomade on the other hand both fills and sets my brows and costs a bit less. It also looks like it’s going to last a lot longer and has a lot more product for less money.Β I’m not sure if I’m ready to let go of my NARS brow gel just yet but I will definitely consider replacing my pomade in the future as well. Long story short- it’s totally worth it, especially if you’re on a tighter budget like me. πŸ™‚

Where can I get it?

You can buy your own from either the Sephora or Anastasia website. I bought mine from SephoraΒ here.

  5. I also find it to thick sometimes so I actually apply a moisturizer to my eye brows first(I know this is kinda weird but I have dry eyebrows!) and then when I put the pomade on it slides on a bit easier and not as dark!
