Explore Thunder Bay | Kakabeka Falls

Spring has SPRUNG! I think it’s about time I hit you all with another post about my hometown. I’ve been trying to slowly showcase some of my favourite places around town – you can check out my other posts & videos here. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Last night Tyler and I decided to head out to Kakabeka Falls for a little date night. Kakabeka Falls is about 20-30 minutes outside of Thunder Bay driving out on Oliver Rd past Murillo. It’s an adorable little township with the absolute best waterfalls in Northern Ontario. The waterfalls are lined with really well kept trails and sight seeing spots.

There’s a little bridge – one for walking and one for driving – that goes across the waterfalls to more trails on the opposite side. Kakabeka Falls is also home to some favourite hiking spots in town. You can do a short hike to a place called “Little Falls” where there’s a very tall but low-flow waterfall (perfect for adventuring on!) Since it was already around 7pm we didn’t do any hiking but I’ll certainly be going back soon ๐Ÿ˜Š

SO! If you’re ever in the area, I definitely recommend checking out Kakebeka Falls, everyone who goes there loves it! There’s also a handful of cute little ice cream places and yummy restaurants in the area that are worth checking out ๐Ÿ™‚
