Beauty | Top 5 Favourite Lipsticks!

Aloha pals, happy #nationallipstickday! In celebration I thought I would share with you my top 5 all-time favourite lipsticks. I made sure to include lipsticks that I constantly reach for both on a daily basis and when I’m getting ready for a night out – hope you enjoy! x

1. BITE’s Two-in-One Travel Lipstick

On the left is the colour Fig, and on the right is Date. Both these tones are perfect for every day wear, and since they’re in a travel size they’re great for tossing in your purse or (duh) travelling with. They’re also fairly long lasting and both the shades are very flattering on all skin tones so it’s all wins all around. This is probably the best item I’ve ever picked up while waiting in line at Sephora. A+ for this one!

2. MAC’s Angel in Frost

This is my “Ellie Goulding” lip colour. I wear it all day every day with a slightly darker lip liner (Kylie’s Posie K is PERFECT) and it gives a very natural full lip look. Even though it’s from MAC’s frost range and is quite sparkly (not something I’m a huge fan of ) something about it just really works for me! I’ve had this one for awhile now and it’s definitely quite well loved, it’s a safe bet on a night out when I don’t know what colour to wear and it’s my go-to on a day to day basis. I can only hope it’s still being carried when I eventually run out!

3. MAC’s D for Danger in MatteIMG_0231

This is my newest MAC lipstick pick up and one of my favourites! Though it’s a dark colour (especially for summer) it has some very pinkish berry undertones that are super flattering I find. Even though it’s definitely more of an evening lip I do often find myself reaching for it on a day to day basis just to liven up my look a little. It’s also surprisingly very long lasting which is a huge plus for me!

4. Dior’s Classic Red (no longer carried)

IMG_0235

This is one of my most well-loved lipstick. It’s the perfect classic red lip, excellent for the winter months or any night out. I’ve had this lipstick for the longest out of any of these, and it’s definitely the most expensive lipstick I own. I’m doing my best not to use it up as Dior no longer carry this colour 😦 And I don’t know what I’m going to do when I run out. It’s so hard to find the perfect red lipstick that has the right hue and doesn’t wear off, hopefully Dior have replaced it with a similar shade by the time I run out! (fingers crossed)

5. Kylie’s Liquid Lipstick in Posie K (Matte)

One of two Kylie Lip Kits I own (you can read my review here), and one absolutely the lipstick that I reach for on most nights out since I got it. Though getting it on can be a bit of trouble (always praying I don’t smudge it before it dries… I usually do) it’s excellent once it’s on. It stays on all night – through drinks and food and all kinds of shenanigans – and I still have to really scrub to get it off at the end of the night. It’s a perfect lip for when you don’t want to have to worry about your lips and want them to look bomb without having to constantly touch up throughout the night. LOVE IT.

  1. […] This is a lip colour I picked up at the end of June and proceeded to wear every time I went out this summer. It’s similar to the berry tones that were very popular last fall, but a little less heavy on the purple and a little more bright and pink – what I consider the perfect mix! You can see swatches here.
