Mission Marsh, Thunder Bay

Today I’m doing a little photo study and blog post devoted to one of my all time favourite places in Thunder Bay, the Mission Marsh Conservation area. I’ve been updating my blog with posts for all of my favourite places around town. For anyone curious about where I come from or anyone who may be travelling to the area, have a read! Thinking back, I can’t believe I haven’t written a post for the Mission Marsh yet because it’s my ALL. TIME. FAV!

Why I Go To Mission Marsh

Mission Marsh, Thunder Bay is where I go when I’m having the most horrible of days. It’s only about a 15 minute drive from where I live and it’s the definition of peacefulness. There are short and easy hiking paths along the shore and through the woods, and there are deer. Everywhere. People have been feeding them forever (even though it’s illegal guys!) so they’re super friendly. You have to drive really slowly once you get to the deer area because they will not hesitate to walk straight up to you. This place has a tendency to make you feel like you’re living your own northern Ontario fairy tale. It’s the place of dreams.

Safe to say the Mission Marsh is an oasis and I need to go back there immediately.
