This is by far my favourite outfit post that I’ve ever done. A few months ago I (finally) booked a trip to Cuba after years of pining to go, but even before the flight was booked I picked up this dress – THE dress. It has so many hints of traditional Spanish women’s fashion that it breaths life into the outfit and just emanates an ambience of Spanish style. It’s one of those pieces that you buy because it gives you a feeling and a vision, and I just knew it would be perfect for my trip to Cuba (and future travels!!) Are you ready for it? …
February was a BIG month for me! I *finally* got to go to Cuba over my winter reading week and I’m still reeling from the experience. As you may know, Cuba’s WiFi situation is a bit weird, you pay for cards that allow you to log in at WiFi hotspots. There are hotspots pretty much everywhere: restaurants, hotels, downtown areas, etc., so it’s not completely unmanageable, my sister had WiFi for most of the trip, but I decided to just let it go for the week I was there. As a result, there’s a big gap in time and content on my Instagram for February… whoops! Friendly reminder that my goal this year is to caption Insta pics with lyrics from songs that fit with them.
*note captions run from most recent to least recent, top to bottom, left to right*
‘the first time in the darkest little paradise’ its true isn’t it? It was my first day and firs time in Cuba, an island paradise ✴ ‘are you ready for it?’ pretty much just are you ready for all my cuba pics ✴ this wasn’t captioned with lyrics bc it was a #AD!!! I do #ADs now! who am I????
‘I didn’t mean it + you didn’t see it’ V-day outfit post plus I was listening to a lot of rep that week ✴ ‘everybody’s got somebody, I just want to be alone’ Niall lyrics to promote my valentines day bake sale, very festive, no? ✴ I used this picture to enter a contest and also bc I love it but there were no lyrics used
#AD pt 1 ✴ ‘is this enough or are we just burning ashes’ my Meet Jo Totes promo post also I LOVE this song ✴ ‘its 2 o’clock on the edge of the morning’ I rewatched sing street after getting into UCD bc I wanted to make myself sad
‘we’re running with wolves into the wild again’ aka its 2018 and I have no clue where the heck ill be in 3 months time ✴ my photo submission for the #GoOverseas scholarship to Ireland ✴ my last post from my January in Instagram.
So this time I broke it down by groups of threes, is that better than the big lump of pictures I did for January? I think I like it better but let me know what you think! How did your February go? On one hand I’m so happy that we’re closer to Spring but on the other my allergies are already acting up and I’m out of school with no jobs lined up in less than two months now so………..!
Tune in next month to see a heck of a lot more of Cuba! It was INCREDIBLE! I’m working on a little something for it but I want it to be just right so you’ll have to sit back and wait for awhile. PS – what are you guys watching on Netflix lately? I’ve been bingewatching tons of foreign shows because holy heck! Europe knows good TV! I recommend Babylon Berlin and Cable Girls (if you haven’t already seen Dark, if not – prioritize that!)
Going along with my 17 Moments from 2017, where I looked back at the last year, my first video of 2018 is looking ahead at all of the fun things to come! Here are 18 things YOU could do, and I WILL be doing in 2018, check it out:
Let me know what YOUR 2018 goals are! I need some inspo and some new things to try and challenge myself with this year!
I know it’s technically blogmas but hear me out okay! This is a video I made from my trip to Toronto back in October and it’s really cute and makes me laugh a lot so I wanted to share it with you.
It shows some of my favourite places in Toronto and has a lil bit of the Harry Styles concert, a lil bit of a tattoo and so many other funny memories!
Moments Behind the Blog Day 6:
Behind this video specifically: when we were at Screemers (a haunted fair) and we went into the very first haunted house the very first scare scared my friend SO BADLY that she jumped fully into the air. We were linked at our arms and she fully jumped with her feet out to the side to defend herself. It killed me and I spent the rest of the walk through just dying with laughter instead of being scared by things, it still makes me laugh.
Your question of the day: Have you ever been to Toronto? Have you been anywhere in Canada?! Thoughts?
As you may know if you’re following me on social media, over my fall reading week I paid a visit to my friend in Dublin. One of the top places on my list of things to do and see was Phoenix Park because hello??? Deer are my favourite animals! If you don’t know what Phoenix Park is, it’s basically Dublin’s version of Central Park – except it’s about 10 times as big, and is home to about a million different places to adventure and explore. Here’s my little travel diary from Phoenix Park, Dublin!…
Fika is just one of the cute little cafes I ended up visiting while in Toronto way back in 2016. I loved so much that I had to share. I originally found the Fika Cafe in Kensington Market on a Buzzfeed article. Then, I visited in 2016, and now I try to go back anytime I’m in Toronto. It’s in a great location, right in the heart of Kensington Market! You can head there for breakfast and then explore the market or vice versa. Kensington Market just keeps expanding, and expanding each time I go. Luckily, there’s always somewhere new to explore. If you’re visiting Toronto for the first time, Fika Cafe in Kensington Market is a must!…
Friends! One of my favourite places is Thunder Bay’s Botanical Conservatory. It’s been awhile since I posted something non-beauty related, and I was just looking through my pictures and came across the some from here in the conservatory! It’s an absolute oasis in the city. Whenever I’m there I feel like I’m in another world. I’m Alice in Wonderland. It’s perfect.
