Travel | Temple Bar & Downtown Dublin

Processed with VSCO with g3 preset

Here is the last little segment on my Irish adventures! Last October I travelled to Ireland to visit a friend for reading week. Since then, I’ve been slowly putting together little collections of photos from my visit and documenting all my adventures there for you! In case you missed it, I’ve already done posts for Phoenix Park and Dun Laoghairenow here’s what I got up to when I stayed in downtown Dublin and spent my days walking around O’Connell Street and Temple Bar. One day, I venture off a little bit to visit the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland – totally worth it! I’ve added in some of the pictures I took there too, because they’re some of my favourites.

The National Botanic Gardens of Ireland

I had to walk about half an hour to get here, probably would have been way easier to get a cab or take the bus, but I really wanted to take the opportunity to see Dublin! I was not disappointed by my walk, I got outside of the central business area and got to see some cute neighborhoods and parks and residential areas and such. Processed with VSCO with m5 preset

Entry to the gardens is free (lush!) and the gardens are huge. Even though it’s a bit out of the way, if you’re a fan of botanic gardens, it’s definitely worth going to. It was a bit rainy when I got there, but there were plenty of conservatories to dip into and big trees to hide under, and I was wearing my hunter boots and raincoat, so I wasn’t too bothered. They also have art installations all over the place, I don’t think I got a picture of many but they were awesome! More places should do that, it really added to the experience!Processed with VSCO with f2 presetProcessed with VSCO with f2 preset

The rest of my days downtown were spent shopping in and around O’Connell street, and walking over to the Dublin Castle and Temple Bar area. Here are some pictures from O’Connell street and the surrounding area (aka pictures I took walking to the area from my hotel).

Dublin Castle & Temple Bar

Okay, I never went in Dublin Castle because I was super hungry and anxious feeling, and I only really went for dinner in Temple Bar (after walking to Dublin Castle, ha!). I didn’t take too many pictures in either area, but here are a few! Processed with VSCO with g3 presetProcessed with VSCO with f2 presetProcessed with VSCO with f2 presetProcessed with VSCO with f2 preset

Ladurée Dublin

Ladurée is just a bit beyond the Temple Bar area, and I found it completely by accident. I was walking around looking for places to shop (because I really didn’t have anything else to do) and I started having horrible indigestion and anxiety. Turn the corner – cue angels singing – and there’s a Ladurée. Blessed. I got a green tea and a pistachio macaron, sat outside and people watched. The man who helped me was beyond lovely and I felt a lot better after going, so I thought it deserved it’s own special shout out!

A Chiara Ferragni box! I was so happy to see that.

And that’s that! Some notes about my stay downtown – I stayed at the Belvedere Hotel, which was perfectly lovely and the location was great – not too central, but not too far from central, and it had a nice cafe on the corner! I didn’t take any buses apart from getting from UCD area to downtown, and I didn’t take any cabs apart from the one I took to the airport. The bus from downtown to the airport was only around 30 euro (I believe… it was awhile ago now). If you have any other questions just let me know!! I’ll do my best to answer!

These pictures were (mostly) edited in VSCO with the F2 preset, and taken on my iPhone 6.

Hope you enjoyed!

x Sabrina

Explore Thunder Bay | Mission Marsh

Processed with VSCO with f2 presetToday I’m doing a little photo study and blog post devoted to one of my all time favourite places in Thunder Bay (my hometown!), the Mission Marsh Conservsation area. I’ve been updating my blog with posts for all of my favourite places around town for anyone curious about where I come from or anyone who may be travelling to the area (unlikely). Thinking back, I can’t believe I haven’t written a post for the Mission Marsh yet because it’s my ALL. TIME. FAV….

Travel | Phoenix Park, Dublin

As you may know if you’re following me on social media, over my fall reading week I paid a visit to my friend in Dublin. One of the top places on my list of things to do and see was Phoenix Park because hello??? Deer are my favourite animals! If you don’t know what Phoenix Park is, it’s basically Dublin’s version of Central Park – except it’s about 10 times as big, and is home to about a million different places to adventure and explore. I personally just wanted to go visit the deer, but we could have easily spent the entire day there walking around. If I lived in Dublin, I would absolutely be going there for picnic dates. So much potential for adorableness. Anyways! Here are some of the pictures we got, sorry for not-so-great quality, my iPhone 6’s battery is DONE, and I forgot a memory card for my camera so we used my friend’s iPhone 5 (I think?!) I think they still turned out really nicely though!

Travel | Spring in Grand Marais

Hi friends! Today I’m going to take you to one of my all-time favourite places – Grand Marais, Minnesota. It’s a small lakeside town about an hour and a half away from Thunder Bay and I go there as many times as a girl can over the summer. It’s the perfect place to go for a little day-long getaway, there are plenty of cute little shops and scenery = the perfect place to spend the day walking around and exploring. This past Tuesday Tyler and I went out to Grand Marais for the first time this summer, this is what we got up to!…

Explore Thunder Bay | Kakabeka Falls

Spring has SPRUNG! I think it’s about time I hit you all with another post about my hometown. I’ve been trying to slowly showcase some of my favourite places around town – you can check out my other posts & videos here. 😊

Last night Tyler and I decided to head out to Kakabeka Falls for a little date night. Kakabeka Falls is about 20-30 minutes outside of Thunder Bay driving out on Oliver Rd past Murillo. It’s an adorable little township with the absolute best waterfalls in Northern Ontario. The waterfalls are lined with really well kept trails and sight seeing spots.

There’s a little bridge – one for walking and one for driving – that goes across the waterfalls to more trails on the opposite side. Kakabeka Falls is also home to some favourite hiking spots in town. You can do a short hike to a place called “Little Falls” where there’s a very tall but low-flow waterfall (perfect for adventuring on!) Since it was already around 7pm we didn’t do any hiking but I’ll certainly be going back soon 😊…

April in Instagram!

Aloha pals! This year I’ve been uploading a series of Instagram posts to give you guys a bit of a better idea of what I’ve been up to throughout the month outside of blogging 🙂 If you’ve been a follower for awhile I’m sure you may have noticed that I’ve been a bit uninspired lately… Exams just took a lot out of me I think. I always feel a bit strange after I finish a school year, I feel like the bit between school and summer work leaves me in a bit of limbo where I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do with myself. This month I’m hoping to take advantage of my spare time and do a lot more work on my blog and YouTube channel, but more on that later 🙂

Here are my Insta posts for April from most to least recent – scroll down for descriptions.  ❤
