I’m an avid user of Airbnb. I’ve stayed in Airbnbs big and small all over the world (or at least in North America and Scotland…) and I’ve found that they provide so many luxuries that you can’t find at a hotel or hostel! It bums me out that so many people are too nervous to try out Airbnb because I feel like you’re missing out on so many cool opportunities! That being said, I totally understand being apprehensive about it. I started out renting an Airbnb (entire apartment) with a friend, then alone, then staying in a single rented room with a friend… and I’m still apprehensive about staying in a single rented room alone! But these are the reasons I would 110% consider trying it out, if you haven’t already:…

2018: A Year In Review

2018 was a big one for me. I graduated, I moved out of my family home, I travelled a ton, I started new jobs, and I met a bunch of new people. I can look back at myself a year ago and see someone who had no idea what the future held, who was unsure of what she wanted to do, and even more unsure of how to achieve the things she knew she wanted. Today I am far less afraid of the unknown, I embrace it and look forward to it and just hope to be lucky enough to get to experience more of it. This year has changed everything about me, from the hair on my head the very essence of my outlook on life. Here’s what happened, maybe after reading you’ll be able to understand why I’ve become such a different person in such a short period of time.

What I Got My Family For Christmas | Edinburgh Edition

Processed with VSCO with ku1 presetI love a good old gift giving. I’m SUCH a sucker for it. My family is not big on Christmas, at least not on the gifting part. Last year we weren’t going to do any gift exchange whatsoever, but I caved at the last moment and ended up on a little shopping spree buying each person from my family a little Christmas present. Then, on Christmas Eve, I wrapped them all up, wrote a little Christmas card with a little explanation as to why I brought them each what I brought, then I signed it from ‘Santa’ and then put it all out on the kitchen table once everyone else had gone to bed. I told you, I’m SUCH A SUCKER. This year is no exception. I went to all of my favourite local shops in Edinburgh to get the best of the best for the people I love most. …

Moving To The U.K. Q+A

Before I moved, I asked on my Instagram for anyone with any questions about my move. In case you missed it – at the beginning of September I relocated from my northern Ontario home, across the Atlantic Ocean, to my new home in Edinburgh, Scotland. Instagram did not disappoint in their questions, and finally after spending a few days here I filmed a little Q+A (my first like this!) to answer some of your burning questions. At the very least, I speak candidly about why I decided to move, and what it really meant for me, what the biggest challenges were, and how I approached it considering I’ve lived with a relatively severe anxiety disorder for my whole life! Watch below.

Do you have any questions for me that weren’t answer in the video? Let me know! I finally have a job here, and at least a lead on an apartment, and ONE whole new friend.

Woolly Sweaters By the Seaside

I think it’s about time I feature a lil outfit post! My wardrobe and style is VERY dependent on the season, and in the summertime I’m very floaty and fresh with my wardrobe. I don’t like anything too flashy, or too high maintenance. I’ll wear the same pair of jean shorts and plain t shirts with Birkenstocks day in and day out. As the weather gets colder, I always somehow find the inspiration to put a lil extra something into my wardrobe. I suddenly want to take the time to do my hair and makeup, and wear skirts with tights and cozy sweaters and turtlenecks. This year, I moved right at the beginning of September, which meant I had to pack up my entire Autumn/Winter wardrobe, and now I’m working through that summer to fall transition on a very minimal wardrobe.
