Review: Sunday lunch at The Lawn, North Berwick

The Lawn restaurant is in the Marine hotel in North Berwick. The Marine is part of a series of historic hotels that have recently been renovated, including the Rusacks hotel in St Andrews, and the Marine hotel in Troon. The Marine in North Berwick is tucked away from the village next to the famed golf course, and enjoys uninterrupted views of the Firth of Forth beyond the links. Upon approaching the hotel, you are immediately impressed with its stately nature. The traditional style has certainly been preserved and improved upon throughout renovations. Still, the feeling of importance permeates its walls. This is the kind of hotel that knows it’s own reputation, and will make you feel important by association.

*I was recently invited as a content creator to try their Sunday lunch menu. However, there was no obligation to review the lunch. All opinions remain my own.

The™ kloud slides Review | AD

This blog post contains paid content, all opinions and reviews remain my own.

A pair of pink slide shoes sticking out of the top of a beige tote bag, laying on top of a sheepskin rug.

My poor, poor feet have been suffering in the hot summer. I broke my only good pair of sandals two years ago, and have been basically rotating through sneakers on a hot day to make sure I don’t get too many blisters in one spot. Enter: the kloud slides.

The slides are for indoor or outdoor use, so loads of people use them as slippers. Even better, as those shoes you can wear inside and outside for quick trips like when you need to take the bins out – what else are slides for? Well, for me, they’re for blister days and travelling. When I know my feet are going to be hot or hurting, I wear the kloud slides.

Without sounding corny, they really do feel like walking on clouds! They’re so soft and cushy, it’s such a nice feeling taking off sweaty sneakers and switching into these. Literally like giving your feet a breath of fresh air!

I’m off to London to celebrate my birthday at the end of July and I’ll definitely be packing my kloud slides. They’re so light and airy so they’re easy to pack away. I know it’s going to be super hot when I’m there too, and I *need* to pack a pair of shoes that my feet can wear for hours without getting blisters (or to wear *after* the blisters of the birthday heels have set in!).

What are your comfiest pair of shoes for the summer?!

Sondeflor Classic Dress Review

Recently I purchased one of Sondeflor‘s gorgeous linen dresses after seeing them on Instagram and falling in love. The Peter Pan collars, the swooshy skirts, the class of it all! I only splurged out on one because I needed a dress to wear to my brother’s wedding. I figured it’s worth the extra expense since it’s for such a special occasion. Plus, it’s made of linen, by a sustainably-conscious brand, and as long as I treat it right it should last a lifetime. However, it’s still quite the investment, and I wasn’t 100% sure it would be worth it. So, for any of you out there who are in a similar position: here is my comprehensive Review.

Alex Steinherr Primark Range Review

Alex Steinherr Primark Review: Maximum Moisture Cream and Sleep Spa Eye Mask

Processed with VSCO with e2 preset

‘ll admit I didn’t really know who Alex Steinherr was, apart from the fact that she’s pals with Estee Lalonde. In fact, I wouldn’t have known about this range if it weren’t for Instagram. So, full thanks to Estee for helping me discover my new FAVOURITE skincare products because I am blown away! I first heard about them on Instagram, and people were commenting on the photo asking things like “are these products vegan?” And “do you test on animals?” And I thought cmon guys, don’t get your hopes up, it’s a Primark range. Well, jokes on me because they are both vegan, and animal testing-free! I didn’t think those things were possible for such an affordable range, but that just goes to show. So, here is my Alex Steinherr Primark Review. …

Maybelline Un-Nude Liquid Matte Lipstick Review

Gifted: The Maybelline Liquid Lipstick review features products that were sent to me free for review. All opinions remain to be my own.Maybelline Liquid Lipstick

Maybelline Liquid Lipstick Review

I’ve never received any products completely out of the blue like this before so I was surprised and excited to try these. I’m always a little hesitant when I receive a product for free. Mostly I’m thinking ‘if they’re sending it to me for free with no strings attached, how good can it be?!’ And that’s really just my own self-doubt kicking in, isn’t it? A lot of my favourite products are by Maybelline, but I have to say I’ve never been overly impressed by any drugstore lip products recently. Enter the Maybelline Stay Matte Ink, Un-Nude style.

I was instantly drawn in by the colour range in this collection. Not all of the shades are for me, and not all of the ones I love suit my skin tone nicely. But there’s really something for everyone here!

Maybelline Total Temptations Review

Maybelline total temptations collection
Maybelline very kindly gifted me some bits from their new Total Temptations collection. There are three products in the release: a shadow/highlight palette, a brow pencil, and a mascara. The whole line is pink and sparkly, and is infused with coconut extract (aka smells awesome). Safe to say, I was super thrilled to see this in my mailbox. Today I’m writing a Maybelline Total Temptation review. While I was gifted these items, I was not obligated to write a review and all opinions are honest and my own. …
