My Dating Dry-Spell

Should I care about my dating dry-spell?

It has been a full two years since I’ve had a boyfriend. Two years since I’ve been on a date, kissed a person, the whole nine yards of relationship. Two YEARS! And it’s just zoomed on by, I’ve been in a dating dry spell and I didn’t even notice! Dating is something that’s so common in everyone else’s lives, but I feel like it’s slipped out of mine and I didn’t bother to notice or care. For the past two years I have been so focused on school, friendships, and eventually moving out… Dating just fell to the background, and I didn’t look back at it until now….

Alex Steinherr Primark Range Review

Alex Steinherr Primark Review: Maximum Moisture Cream and Sleep Spa Eye Mask

Processed with VSCO with e2 preset

‘ll admit I didn’t really know who Alex Steinherr was, apart from the fact that she’s pals with Estee Lalonde. In fact, I wouldn’t have known about this range if it weren’t for Instagram. So, full thanks to Estee for helping me discover my new FAVOURITE skincare products because I am blown away! I first heard about them on Instagram, and people were commenting on the photo asking things like “are these products vegan?” And “do you test on animals?” And I thought cmon guys, don’t get your hopes up, it’s a Primark range. Well, jokes on me because they are both vegan, and animal testing-free! I didn’t think those things were possible for such an affordable range, but that just goes to show. So, here is my Alex Steinherr Primark Review. …

Woolly Sweaters By the Seaside

Woolly sweater outfit of the day meets life chat

I think it’s about time I feature a lil outfit post, so here’s my woolly sweater! My wardrobe and style is very dependent on the season. In the summertime I’m very floaty and fresh with my wardrobe. I don’t like anything too flashy, or too high maintenance. I’ll wear the same pair of jean shorts and plain t shirts with Birkenstocks day in and day out. As the weather gets colder, I always somehow find the inspiration to put a lil extra something into my wardrobe. I suddenly want to take the time to do my hair and makeup, and wear skirts with tights and cozy sweaters and turtlenecks. This year, I moved right at the beginning of September, which meant I had to pack up my entire Autumn/Winter wardrobe, and now I’m working through that summer to fall transition on a very minimal wardrobe.

PSA: Get Your Clothes Altered

An Old Way to Battle Fast Fashion

I never got my clothes altered growing up. I also wasn’t as much of a consumer then as I am now, and I just wore whatever I had and whatever was given to me as it was. As an adult, I’ve started shopping waaaaay more than I ever thought I would. And, I’ve become aware of how those shopping habits are impacting the planet negatively.

I mostly buy clothes online, so I rarely get to try things on before committing. I’m also a bargain hunter, 90% of the time the stuff I’ve bought is on sale, and non-refundable. Result? I’ve gotten my share of clothes that kind of/sort of fit. At least enough to be wearable, but are nothing like what I’d imagine. I mostly wear them out of guilt for having bought them, and am constantly disappointed at how badly they fit me. So I made the simply choice get getting my clothes altered.

Four Classic Bandana Hairstyles

Bandana hairstyles are making a comeback, OK? Now that the whole neck scarf (let’s just call them bandanas) thing is back in a big way people are looking for more and more ways to style bandanas. One obvious answer? Put them in your hair! Bandana styling was the OG way to style a neck scarf. I would be lying if I said that I didn’t pull most of these styles straight out of 4 year old me’s repertoire.

Why to try bandana hairstyles…

Adding them can really add a personal touch to your outfit. It says that you really thought about what you put on (even if it only takes a minute to do). I used a traditional style bandana in this post, but I’m on the hunt for a nice tropical print on with bright colours. Brighter, bolder prints are a lot more ~in~ right now than the traditional bandana look. But I think what matters is how you style it, and the look you’re going for. Here are my four go-to, very quick and simple bandana hairstyles.

As the environmental movement gets co-opted by consumer culture, we’re seeing more and more eco-friendly products for different interests.

Traveling in Viñales, Cuba

Hola amigas! As promised, here is my second Cuba vlog AND! It’s edited in VSCO! Colour grading on my amateur youtube channel?! What?! I love it. What do you think? Did I go overboard? Do you like it better? I don’t know!!! Either way, come along for a little day of adventuring around Viñales and see everything the beautiful valley has to offer! I’m honestly SO happy we decided to travel here to stay for a few days rather than doing a day trip. It’s easily one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been in my entire life. I can’t believe how skeptical I was now, I thought it would be quite off the beaten track and hard to navigate but it was SO travel-friendly. I can’t say enough good things about it, so just watch the video and see for yourself!

Quick Travel Tips!

Our Airbnb in Viñales arranged a collective taxi to take us to and from Viñales. It’s well over an hour drive, and this made it a lot more affordable. At the same time, you sacrifice the advantages you’d get with a regular taxi. Regular taxis are new and comfortable, collective taxis are old, loud and don’t have A/C. Not a dealbreaker for us, but maybe for you.

Our Airbnb hosts also helped arrange some things for us to do. When we arrived we immediately whisked off for a horseback tour of the valley. It was absolutely stunning and our tour guide – their family friend – Rollo, helped us get a good understanding of the area.
